I’ve been a DTM fan as far back as I can remember. Back in the days when the cable box had a max of 65 channels, I’d stay up till the wee hours of the morning after Headbangers Ball (MTV) to catch a glimpse of DTM racing. Nowadays you can just tune in at the official DTM website or Speed2.com to get your fix on. Or the best option; To watch a Clash Productions behind-the-scenes short cinematic film. Popcorn highly suggested.
The V2 Lab’s Mystery Meet was an awesome street party full of all the best cars that Florida had to offer. Vossen was there with a booth giving away a free set of wheels to one lucky attendee. They also managed to film a sick video of their time at the event.

After drooling over yesterday’s McLaren 2012 FIA GT3 post, I came across this highlight video of the super sexy Mercedes-Benz’s SLS AMG GT3. Mercedes seems to attribute more to DTM, but seeing how McLaren and Mercedes work so closely in F1, I’m sure there is some crossover in the relationship.
Give me a brake. Does Mercedes really think they can fool us? This is clearly a station wagon, no? The reality is, it’s marketing. The same way Mercedes spun the now ubiquitous “4-door Coupe” concept, it’s only a matter of time before Audi and VW follow suit with their own shooting wagons…
That’s right, beginning in Jan. ’12, you will be able to exchange your Halliburton carbon fiber briefcase filled with cash for a brand new 2012 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Coupe Black Series. Stomp on the throttle and 100 kph is seen in a claimed 4.2 seconds. Not to worry, AMG composite brakes will be ready for you to avoid any tickets. Unfortunately, you’ll probably still get a ticket just for looking fast. Front aero canards, an integrated rear diffuser and DTM style rear spoiler will definitely be used as evidence to present to the judge. Enjoy the video.
H2O International is now behind us and all we have to say is BRAVO!
Another great event that no one on the East Coast should miss. It has become the pilgrimage of a typhoon of VW’s, Audi’s, BMW’s, Mercedes’s, Honda’s, Mazda’s, Subaru’s, Volvo’s?… my point being, the city of Ocean City, MD is taken by storm. Everywhere you look, in every hotel parking lot, every restaurant, in every nook and cranny, you will find some derivative of a slammed, wheeled up, crazy painted, cambered out, stretched, poked, bagged, coiled, stickered, HID’d vehicle. You have to see it to believe it. And we’re not talking about a few blocks; No, we are talking about a 10 mile stretch of pavement littered with the hustle & bustle of pieces of artwork shuttling back and forth stopping for the occasional spur of the moment, this empty parking lot will suffice, GTG (GetToGether for the newbs;)
Definitely, definitely mark your calendars for this event next year…
What’s better than being track-side during one of racing’s most enduring races besides being one of the drivers? Being able to watch the multitude of perspectives uploaded to ‘The Network’ covering the 24 Hours of Nurburgring. This is where the engineering of these mechanical wonders and the perseverance of the spirit of racing is put to the test. One lap around is over 15 miles and with an entry list of over 200 cars, there is definitely no shortage of action.
I love the smoothness with which the driver’s finesse is highlighted by keeping this V8 powered monster Mercedes-Benz 190E DTM under control.
Taking it old school. There is inspiration at every corner in this video. DTM FTW.

You probably have seen at least one concept picture of the Mercedes A-Class, their new entry level hatchback. The car will be first officially shown at the Shanghai motor show, as Mercedes sees China as one of their largest potential markets for the new compact car. The base level car will have a four cylinder turbo putting out 210 hp, which is quite respectable for an urban hatchback. But, what happens when the A-Class gets handed over the Mercedes AMG division? Well, Top Gear reports that the Mercedes tuning division upped the horsepower to 350 and they have been toying with making it an all-wheel drive platform. This takes the A-Class AMG out of VW GTI land and will let it play with the likes of the R32 and Subaru WRX STI. I’m excited about a 350 hp Mercedes A-Class AMG. Can you say rally car?
